There is an easy way to increase the visual size of your room without spending thousands of dollars to add on to your house.  Large entertainment centers that spread across the length of a wall reduces the visual space in the room.

In this example, the two end units were removed to instantly increase the visual size of this family room.  Leaving plenty of space around large furniture pieces help to create a spacious atmosphere in the room.  Too much furniture or improperly placed furniture can leave the room feeling crowded and small.  When in doubt, take it out!
