On a recent appointment, I came across a peculiar item hanging on the wall. I have never seen anything like this before, so naturally I asked the homeowner about it. I was quite surprised when she told me what it was.
Can you guess what this item hanging on the wall is?
Let me know what you think it is, and I will reveal the answer on a later date.
KFM Staging & Design, a Minnesota home staging company.
ummm...a watchamacallit or maybe a thingamajig?
Steve
to me it looks like and early fire extinguisher..
The sad thing is that so many of us Realtors leaped to that thought .. guess it to many hours of watching Antique Road Show . We do need a life sometimes
I'm guessing a doohickey...or an air freshner....can't wait for you to reveal the answer.
Yeah, I think Steve has it....it's definitely a thingamajig. Clearly. I can't believe no one else could figure that out. LOL!
To me it looks like an upside down Genie bottle, although at first glance I would think it could be a light.
It's an automatic fire extinguisher w/ alarm - but I can't figure out what the alarm would sound like being filled with water...(love high resolution photos)
I'd say an air freshner it looks full of liquid...

The only thing I can think of is some sort of antique decorative item that you could put coloured water in - you would colour the water to match your decor? I know it's a stretch. I wonder if there is some significance to it being so high up on the wall, but then some people hang their pictures too high also. This was a pretty wordy way of saying "I'm stumped!" :-). Can't wait to find out the answer.
I agree with Kate, I think it is some kind of a weather detecting device.

OK since Kristina hasn't answered yet -- here's the answer (only doing this because some of you are so anxious to know!) ...
Right click on the photo and select "save picture as" and then save it to your desktop.
Once it's on your desktop, you can enlarge it/zoom in on it and you'll be able to read what the label says!
Sorry Maureen, I have been on a vacant stage all day!
Some of you were absolutely right! Click here to see the answer! Thank you for all the wonderful guessing! It was great to come home after a long day of staging and get quite a laugh from some of the comments!
Kristina,
I read the follow up to this post first and just had to see the bigger picture.
I burst out laughing when I read Maureen Bray's response...
This is easy! It's a tiny hot air balloon so that the leprechauns can escape from your house on St. Patrick's Day to go out looking for shamrocks!
Now I want one!
